Opening Reception: October 9 from 1-5 PM
Kristoffer West-Johnson is an Owatonna native and a graduate of Minnesota, Mankato. Kristoffer said, “I am driven to express a visible presentation and an abstraction of such mindful yet invisible subjects as consciousness, living emotions, and the idea of soul as a hidden hand in fate, and daily living.”
In the East Gallery
The Paper Folk Art cutouts by Joy Jacobson will be on display in the East Gallery. Joy, who is 85 and living in Aikin, Minnesota, began cutting paper over 40 years ago. Paper cutouts date back to 100 A.D. in China. The German word for this art form is “Scherenschnitte” which means scissor cuts. She uses a small scalpel to cut out the intricate silhouette designs which are then placed on a contrasting background.
Gallery hours are 1:00-5:00 PM Tuesday through Sunday.
