The Owatonna community has a rich history of Art and we invite you to be a part of that lively experience of “ART On The Hills.” The art fair is July 29 and 30, 2017.
The setting is the beautiful grounds of the State School Orphanage Museum and the Owatonna Arts Center, on the West Hills Campus. Featured will be fifty artists, live entertainment, art activities for the young at heart, and ethnic food concessions.
The art fair is hosted by the Owatonna Arts Center and the “ART On The Hills” committee.
This is a major event that the community and surrounding area looks forward to attending.

ART On The Hills is open to all artists, 18 and over, in the

Marketing and Advertising

ART On The Hills is promoted in the tri-state area attracting
visitors within 150-mile radius of Owatonna.

Parking

Parking is available near your booth to load or unload your
product. No car, trailer, van or camper may be parked at your
booth. Parking will be available on the grounds.

Rules

1. All artwork must be original concept and executed by the
artist making application. (No mass produced, commercial or
imported products, copies, kits molded, or fabricated work,
will be allowed.) No sales reps will be permitted.
2. Jewelry must be handmade.
3. Limited Editions must have been created by the artist and
numbered.
4. The Artist must be present at the art fair.
5. Each Artist must submit images under his/her own name
even if sharing a booth. When applying each Artist must pay
the registration fee.
6. Only accepted juried media by that artist can be sold. The
committee has the right to remove items that are not juried
into the art fair.
7. No more than three media per exhibitor is allowed.“ART On
The Hills” is a rain or shine event. Booth will be located out
doors. Individual booth size will be 10’ x 10’. Artist must
provide booth, equipment, and ALL display needs for their
work. No electrical service is provided. Recommendations –
please have tent rigged for weather, 40 lb. weights suggested
for tent in case of bad weather; liability insurance.
8. No change of booth assignments permitted.
9. Minnesota Sales Tax ID# must be on file with the “ART On
The Hills” committee prior to the art fair or you will not be
allowed to participate.
10. No refunds will be made after June 15.
11. Artists may check in or set up his/her booth on Friday
between 1PM and 7PM or after 6 AM on Saturday.
12. Artist wares must be available for sale until the close of the
show on Sunday, then booths and wares must be removed by
6 PM on Sunday.
13. Entry fee will be held until jury committee meets.
Jury Criteria
A panel of artists will be looking for Aesthetics, Technical ability,
Design quality. No names will be given during the jury process.
All jury information is kept anonymous and confidential. There
will be no appeals on jurors’ decisions.
The “ART On The Hills” reserves the right to balance the show
according to media.”

Entry Procedures

For your convenience, go to www.oacarts.org. Click on the Art Fair page to either download a printable form OR enter your info directly online. If mailing send to:

Kindly provide 3 images of your work and an image of booth which are each under 2MB.
Include a Word document coinciding with image number indicating Artist’s Name, media, dimension, brief description of work and an Artist bio. This information will be used for selection process and /or any related publication for publicity.
Entry must be received by May 16, 2017.
An $100. 00 entry fee per booth space.
If an artist is not accepted, the entire entry fee will be returned.

Participation Agreement

The Owatonna Arts Center “ART On The Hills” and the City of Owatonna shall not be responsible for bodily injury or property damage or loss of art work or equipment arising from any cause, including inclement weather. Submission of work grants permission to use images of art work for publicity purpose. Signing registration form give acceptance of conditions listed above.

Registration Check List
  • 2 Participant agreement understood and registration form signed. Images and information accompanying registration form.
  • 2 Entry fee is $100.00.
  • 2 Minnesota Sales Tax ID#.
  • 2 Exhibitors are responsible for collecting and reporting Minnesota sales tax. You may register by phone for a sales tax permit in Minnesota, by calling 651-282-5225. New! All exhibitors must comply with Minnesota, statues by having an operator certificate of compliance (ST-19) for 2001 MCF on file at the MCC office.
